I fished chimney point this morning from about 8:30 to 11:30. There was about 6 inches of black ice, and I was jigging a small forage minnow tipped with spikes. Although not fast and furious, the action was pretty steady until about 11. I took home 9 perch up to 12 and 1/2 inches, and one calico, plus released a couple and gave a couple away. One largemouth was landed on tip ups by my fishing buddies son. After last years non season, good to be back. Guys where fishing all over, as you can sorta see in the video, plus saw an ATV zipping up the middle. Looks like the ice should survive our next warm spell. Guys were also fishing Squantz, and a guy there said there was a good five inches. Ice didn't look good on the Candlewood boat launch next to squantz, and no one was fishing the area where they hold the jig and pig so watch where you go out there. Link
