Elixir and I headed back over to west lake res around midnight and drilled a few holes and started jigging, Perfect Hook Set joined us about 12:30 which is when i got my first aggressive hit and pulled up a 12 inch Crappie using a rapala jigging shad with some spikes, a few minutes later, after a few more holes were drilled a little closer to mine, I caught a tiny Yellow Perch, maybe, 6 inches the thing was bait. people jumped around holes while i continued to jig my hole faithfully, another few mins and I got another Very aggressive hit, pulled up a 14 inch Crappie, at this point we were all freezing out buts off so after a few mor minutes of no action we called it a night with me being the only person to pull fish in on my birthday, but thats how it seems to work with Elixir and myself birthdays are your day for fish.

Mmm, nothing like fish fry for a birthday dinner. Hope to get a few of my own in March, usually get a few crappies around that time.

No we know where the weed edges are in most ares so we drill around there and one of the holes will be a hot spot. We dont have the money for a flasher. Would be nice though.

You're wasting your money on extra bait. Rapala Jigging Raps are such productive lures you don't need any extra bait on them. If you look at the video I posted on the topic titled "ATTN Michael", you'll see how productive things were. January 2011 I was at Black Rock Pond using a Jigging Rap with no spikes and a buddy was using a Kastmaster with mealies. He got robbed on the Kastmaster a lot while I was jigging up lots of trout. Trout I kept had his mealies in their stomachs. PB 5.1 pound brown trout was caught jigging with a Jigging Rap at Candlewood with no spikes.

I sure am! I use hardly anything else except for Rapalas! And Rapalas are always bound to outdo the others from quantity to quality Razz
