I have just been hammering the bass lately using a homemade Umbrella rig. There is really no limit to how many baits you can have in South Carolina. Some rigs have 6, some 5.
Been using 3.5" storm wild eye swim shads as baits. The bass absolutely crush this and there is no doubt you have a bass. The most I have caught at once is 3 fish.
Went today and caught a really nice 7.5lb bass and my buddy had his 1st double. Several 4lb fish we didn't get pics of as well. water was 54 deg
Bass are suspended about 40 feet down over 60ft following huge shad schools around. You can just make out my graph with 61.4ft deep. You can catch them with a jigging spoon but bigger fish on the Umbrella rig.
I like to wear my Uconn sweatshirt and let everyone know a Yankee is catching these bass!
