Hi,
Well... I got done last night with a maritime consulting job and thought I'd make my 1st outing to go icefishing today !
NOPE ! -> Not going ! -> Temp here in Winsted, as of right now is 1 degree F. with wind chill factor of -4 ...... and "Baby that's COLD "
Heck -> I wouldn't be able to keep my fishing rod guides free of ice at that temp. and any holes would freeze over so fast I'd be constantly clearing them of ice.
That's more work then Fun !
This is good Wx for making ice -> Yet I'll wait till the temps get back into the 30's !
Good day to stay warm !

Maybe you should become an afternoon fisher like me. I do a lot of 2-3 hour trips in the 2pm - 5pm hours. The weather's not so bad then. Predicted to be in the 20's then, with low wind. _________________ PB LMB: 4lb 13oz

Hi AnF,
I already do that !
Besides I leave it for the younger fellows to get up early !
By the afternoon many are gone and leave plenty of holes for me to use! (I ask first).
Glad I'm not sailing the North Atlantic this time of year or headed from Christ Church, NZ to Antartica -> Those where COLD COLD voyages !
Too old to do those any more !

I used to carry tools and misc. building materials in my truck box, it has all been slowly displaced by multiple sets of winter clothes. The tools now go in and out of the truck bed as needed, besides most of my fishing clothes are not suited to co mingle with the civilized clothing in my house. _________________ Herring? |
