Don't laugh but its been (in my opinion) too damn hot to fish. While sitting in front of my AC I was looking through one of the tackle boxes I don't use anymore. I found 5 or 6 jitterbugs in assorted colors: funny in recent years I got so use to fishing buzzbaits and Pop-r's I had forgotten about the OLD RELIABLE JITTERBUG. Anyone else throw these old stand buys? I can remember catching alot of quality fish on them and not only at night. Just wondering as I traveled down memory lane. cmorjoe |

Top left slot are unused ones. Theres a small black weedless in there ive never used yet. The colored ones i might have used on overcast days sometime in the past years, dont know for sure.
Top right are two sputter buzz. Kinda like a buzz bait, by fred arbogast. Used one once but thats it.
Second row left, two broken back jitter clickers.
Second row right, 4 straight jitterbugz
Below them are 2 jitter clickers. The two missing are tied on rods
I always have more luck with the jitter clickerz
You wont find the clickers anywhere other than walmart. Well, you could order them online, but im talking localy. You can tell them apart (besides shaking them) by the red dots on the bottoms. Usualy found at the rear hook of the straight bugz and at the front hook of the broken backs.
Couple of Hula Poppers in the lower left that i never really use.
Im a packrat with lures. Couple lucky craft sammies in the lower right.
I posted the frog box picture because there are 3 mudbugz in there, also something ive never used yet
I also have an XL jitterbug in the boat. Doesnt fit in a box. I bought one last year and snapped my line casting it at night, the night i bought it. I just picked this one up at tournament force. These things are HUGE!!!
If i do good with something, i get right out there and buy another, or two sometimes.
Right Keith? ........
Notice the natural red frog has another right snuggly next to it now? LOL
Had some good fun with the strike king grass frog in white, couple years ago. I went and ordered 10 !! _________________ Thar aint NO fish in here !!!!!!!! |

Please forgive the dumb question - but exactly how do you fish one of these things? Is it just a top-water bait like a popper? Or is it closer to a crankbait? |

Top water, and slowly reel it in and it will wobble, and you can do a steady retrieve, or a stop and go.... _________________ ~ Marc
