Not being a dick, just wondering. Are those the sharks that your not even supposed to take out of the water? Nice fishing there! _________________ There's a fine line between fishing....

Those are dogfish, and I'm pretty sure you can do with them as you wish. |

No limit on dogfish. Just don't remove nurse sharks, which spawn in the area, from the water. _________________ RNA - It's in my blood.

Hey fishfinder, I think that's the sandbar shark you were reading about. I read about them also, that they were around this summer and were not to be kept or harmed. |

Useful sites. Shark ID from the NOAA. http://www.nmfs.noaa.gov/sfa/hms/sharks/2008/Rec_shark_ID_placard.pdf and
http://www.beach-net.com/Sharksand.html. Lot's of people use sand, spiney and smooth dogfish interchangeably, as well as sand and nurse or grey nurse sharks. They are not all the same, though most of what is caught in the sound are smooth or spiny dogfish, and as I said, aren't subject to any restrictions. You could catch a hundred of them. You've got several dogfish pictured. If you go to England, you're likely eating dogfish these days at your local chippy. The only dogfish I'm really fond of are the 60, 90 and 120 Minute IPAs _________________ RNA - It's in my blood.
