After a long night's sleep and waking up to windy conditions, I was having a hard time making up my mind on what to do. I finally decided to check to see if there's been any change in the fishing at Seaside and Remington. Low tide for Bridgeport was scheduled for 6:57pm and I got down to Remington around 3:30pm.
Lures I played around with the whole time I was there included purledescent Shallow Shad Rap SSR-9, flake purple ghost Max Rap MXR-15, flake blue sardine Max Rap MXR-11, spotted minnow Saltwater X-Rap SXR-10, croaker Saltwater Skitter Pop SSP-9, blue shad Rattlin Rapala RNR-7, chrome Skitter Pop SP-9, original pearl shad Flat Rap FLR-10, and purple gold Clackin Rap CNR-7.
Never had any hits on plugs and crankbaits. Lost a taylor on the SSP-9 and had snappers hitting it. The retrieve they were into was light chugging on the surface as if you were working a pencil popper for stripers.
Hit the road just after 7pm.
Snappers were out there but people weren't into them much. Something I saw seemed to be 2 or 3 adult bunker jump out of the water in 1 area instead of snappers. |

What? People are not into the snappers, I went to ShopRite with my wife the other day and saw they charging $3.99 per pound for those. _________________ Something smells fishy. |

Maybe not inyo them meant they were xstching them? Not everyone likes to eat fish, I know a lot of people that just fish for fun and dont keep anything at all. _________________ There's a fine line between fishing....

Just gave away over 20lbs. of striper fillets. Probably throw back 90% of my keepers. Never liked seafood. Wish I did because I love fishing. Gave away most of the bluefin pictured in my image. It's amazing how many friends you can find when you offer tuna steaks! _________________ RNA - It's in my blood.

What I mean is people weren't catching them. Many people were throwing the traditional snapper rig with a small teaser at the end but they weren't getting anything. Saw no more than 5 landed. |
