hit lilli again today! (LOL) so close to home hard to resist! IT WAS A GREAT DAY ON THE WATER! launched at about noon and ONLY SAW 2 other boats all day! WHEN I TELL YOU A GREAT DAY ON THE WATER anyone who has been on lilli in the summer or during a tourney KNOWS just how awful the boat traffic can be! - and the bonus was no wind a real pleasure to fish! (LOL) that being said the fishing was slow and we worked for everyone we got! NOT AWFUL we got a couple of really nice fish - and a bunch of decent fish! - NOTHING TO REALLY BRAG ABOUT! but it was just a nice fall day to be on water eating PBJ's and hanging with my son! - if they would just stop running the water out for a while I THINK the fishing would really pick up! - we fished both sides towards the dam and the water was pretty clear and cool!
hope everyone had some fun today - and gets a chance to get out on sunday! (LOL) after church!

Fished Lilly today for a small tourney! 8 Boats. Bite was tough. Started at 6:30am. First boat out and hit the launch area 100 feet to the right. Three immediate blow ups on my Super Spook and didn't land one. Big hits thinking pike! About 3 minutes later landed a 2 pounder. Nothing again, not even a bite till I started drop shotting the the east bank south of Shepaug Bay. Entered the bay and took a huge hit from a very large pike and he spit the spook not before leaving teeth marks all over it. It was a awesome fight for about 20 seconds on mt WG Top Water Rod.
Biggest bag for the day was 2.9LB's. (Sorry No Pictures)
Ran into another boater and chatted for a minute. Says Lilly, and I do have to concur, shuts off like a light switch as soon a the sun hits the water. Once the overcast broke the bite stopped with in minutes. Even the pan fish and small bass were very far and few in between.
Overall it was a great day to be out on the water with the crisp air and leaves turning. _________________ Don't hold your farts in! They travel up your spine to your brain and thats where shitty ideas come from. |

YUUUP! it's a tough one alright! BUT when you do get a big one IT MAKES IT WORTH WHILE - especially the pike! - which i find are different in that as soon as the sun comes out they hit ? they seem to like that 9am to 12pm time???? |
