Sunday I got an early start to the day after getting lots of rest on that miserable sleep-in day we had Saturday. First stop was one of my usual small ponds in Trumbull around 10am.

First lure I threw out was my traditional silver shad Jointed Shad Rap JSR-4. Never saw any action with it.

Next lure was a custom painted red tiger Jointed J-7. That started catching me a few bass. Total with that lure within a half hour was 3 dinky bass up to 8" and a 14.5" 1 1/2 pound largemouth. The bigger bass seen in the pic is the 1 1/2 pounder which went for the 8"er while reeling it in.

Later after nothing else on the J-7 I switched over to a hot tiger Jointed Shad Rap JSR-4 but didn't have anything follow or hit it.

Headed straight up to my other usual small pond that caught me the 6 1/4 pounder back in March. When I got there I was very surprised to see how low the water level was! I even saw many older pine trees were brown and lost lots of needles! Bluegills were stacked up in some areas but only saw 3 or 4 largemouths. Never got any hits or followers, even if I threw a HJ-6. Didn't bother throwing a small soft plastic after seeing how scared the fish were every time I'd cast.

Went to the private lake I hit those bullgills at. Stuck with the traditional silver shad Jointed Shad Rap JSR-4. My usual spot only produced 1 bluegill. Moved over to another usual spot that produces and caught 3 bluegills and 1 largemouth, All 3 bluegills were 8" ranging from 8oz to 10oz and the largemouth was 15" just under 2 pounds.

Went to another local lake and stuck with the silver shad JSR-4 but never caught anything.

Last stop was Twin Brooks Park. Still had plenty of time so I took it easy at some spots. All areas I hit never produced. Tried working topwater around cover, crankbaits in some deeper water, and minnow plugs in shallow areas but no luck.

Hit the road around 5:45pm[/list]
