After seeing all the pike being caught last Sunday by Phil (Peco) and Mark (mep21).
I decided I needed a day off from work to try and get back on the river and see if I can get more than one fish this time.

I launched out of Salmon River and started fishing in the canal about 8:30.
I was half way into the canal throwing a ribbit frog when i got a hit. I thought it was a bass but ended up being a pike about 26 inches.

Not long after that, I was throwing a lipless rapala crank bait along side a tree in the water and landed another pike about 24 inches.
At the same time I was bringing in the fish, Bob and Kira were headed toward me going up to the end of the canal.

I started working my way up the river and landed about a 13 inch bass on the crank bait.
Soon after that, i got a crappie on the crankbait.

It slowed down, so Phil and I headed over to Chapmans Pond. I was able to pick up a few perch before Phil got there on the crankbait.
I also had another pike on the ribbit frog but it got caught up in the weeds and I lost it.

Phil was doing pretty good on a wacky rig, so I tied one on myself and was able to pick up a few bass about 13 inches.

Sorry, I don't have any pics this time. Have to remember to take pictures next time.

Sounds like a nice day off from work....makes you want to stay on the water and away from work. Very Happy
