Monday late afternoon I headed down to Seaside looking for more snappers action. Got down to the cannon around 5pm with high scheduled for 7:33pm.
Snappers weren't too thick and active this time. I only had 1 follower on the HJ-6. Another fisherman next to me only had 1 follower on a Kastmaster.
Later I headed over to the shoreline side of the sandbar and casted into the harbor. Landed 5 and lost as many. Kept 3 with one being what you'd call a baby taylor. One of the smaller ones has a chunk taken out of it.
Once it got closer to sunset things quieted down so I started to head over to Remington.
Before getting to Remington, I checked with a fisherman how everything was going. He said he was getting a few snappers, landed 1 taylor on a live snapper, and got a snapper popper chopped off by a bigger blue.
Got over to Remington and fished til 8pm. Tried throwing a chrome Skitter Pop SP-9 and spotted minnow Saltwater X-Rap SXR-10 with no luck. Saw one of the usuals I run into get 2 explosions on a popper before things stopped.
I have a feeling that with the snappers not as thick and active as they were Friday and hearing and witnessing things about taylors and harbors, these colder temps we're getting are pushing the snappers out and bringing the gators in! |

Wish I could try it at night but not having a car and riding my bike all the way home once the city buses stop running are issues, esp in Bridgeport. |
