Went out sat and sunday to stratford. Both days hit up middleground.

Saturday got out mid morning with my brother and friend. Lots of boats out there. It was pretty consistant action on the porgies and small sea bass. My god there must be millions of small sea bass around its crazy. 3-9" is just insane. I has several doubles on of sea bass. Wheres all the big ones! Mostly small porgies also though my brother did get a nice 2+lb porgy. No sign of blues anywhere! Didnt see anyone get anything but porgies and seabass. The flies though were out in full force it was unbearable!!!! We had to leave after noon it was getting so bad. Headed upriver and did some swimming and whatnot and put out a chunk but nothing going. Saw some schools of something near sunnyside but they wouldnt hit. Thought it was snappers but maybe still bunker.

Sunday headed out again and saw birds working at the mouth but didnt see anyone get anything. We put out the T&W and did get one hit but that was about it. Then back out to middleground and same stuff. Porgies and loads of small seabass. Biggest porgy was 1.5lbs but everything else was small. Only saw one small blue caught. Talked to another guy there who went out for the wicc near 18 and said he got nothing. Absolutely pathetic for this time of year.
Headed back upriver in the afternoon to get a friend and going to try for snappers saw a few splashes near devon bridge but nothing biting. Headed back to sunnyside and saw lots of splashes but turned out to be bunker as I snagged one on a kastmaster. Back down river later and saw splashes near the RR bridge and got a couple schoolies and a bunch of snappers.
Sure hope these blues/stripers move back in the area soon or its a long boring late summer/fall or better at least have a good blackfish year.
