Fished Silver Lake last Thursday as I was on vacation for the week from 2:00 until 6:00. Caught my usual quota (32) of Silver Lake schoolies 1-2 lbers using spinnerbait, tube, and t-rigged senko. All from within 2-6 FOW on the outside edges of the weedlines. As I was motoring slow along one edge of the weeds my motor hits something and then stops. Raise the motor up and there is a @%$!! steel cable wrapped around my prop. Possibly leftover from the days they were dredging the lake. Took my shirt off and jumped into the water to untangle the prop. Just ruined a $650.00 stainless steel prop because some idiot forgot to retrieve the cable from the water. That just put a damper on the rest of the day. _________________ Eat, Sleep, Fish......I Love my SKEETER ZX225!!!

32 fish, that is a good day. I fished silver about 6 times this year and caught nothing but 1-2lbers and some small picks. I used to love that lake, but this year it has been disappointing. Nothing over 2lbs. Back in the day, I remember pulling 3-5lbs out of there on a regular basis - I must have been a better fisherman then:)
That sux about your prop but it could have been worse (blown motor, damaged hull, injury). _________________ Sorry honey, looks like we will be late again due to motor problems.

True, it could have been worse good thing I had the motor going slow. It's just money that I could have used to buy more rods & reels on top of the 25 I have now! _________________ Eat, Sleep, Fish......I Love my SKEETER ZX225!!!

The big ones are there. You have to punch pads/frog for the better ones. I got a heavy 5 this spring and a bunch of threes on the frog. Theres some HAWG pickerel in there, got a 5 in the early summer. |

I used to go there all the time to fish. It is close to my house and there can be a few decent fish in there.
I DON"T GO THERE ANYMORE BECAUSE OF WHAT YOU JUSTR SAID.
That lake has more crap in it that a run-off of a power plant. An I think there is one near the back of the lake.
There are alot of scummy people who fish from shore and trash the lake.
Several years ago there were two guys throwing beer bottles from shore over the water and shooting them with a pellet gun. Just two many scum bags near that lake for me.
Its sad to say that when I show up the quality of people increases dramatically _________________ GET HOOKED! tm |

Ouch,..that's a real bummer on the prop, but good job on the catching though! _________________ "If people concentrated more on the really important things in life there'd be a shortage of fishing poles."
