Every night, the amount of bunker that travel into the river is absolutely INSANE! For the past 3 nights there have been bunker everywhere. You can snag them, scoop them up with a net, or hell, there were people snagging them on kastmasters.
There's been a decent number of big blues following them as well, but they're hard to catch with so much bait around. I managed to land 2 9-10 pounders today, but bites were very limited. The snappers were the only consistent things all day.
That said, I saw a ton of mycobacteruim? ( the red thread-like parasite) clinging to the sides of bunker and blues today. I've yet to see (or notice) any on the scup and fluke I've been catching. |

Even with the warm water temps, seems like the bigger fish are starting to move in. |

Its great to see stocks of bunker rebuilding. Now we need some laws to protect them up and down the East Coast.. |

I'm still waiting to hook a nice striper following these schools of blues. No dice. I've only seen one small striper so far this year. Might be time to make a run for the Race. |

Then how true is it that these CT guys get lots over 30" with their 9" black Slugos overnight in the spring and fall?
BTW- bluefish is my main concern |

Whatever lures you have I'll take as long as you get me a hotel room along the ri coast. Deal or no deal? |
