I have a few times Alex but haven't in a while now.
Jointed Shad Raps are good crankbaits for the Saugatuck. |

thanks, you've been very helpful Michael. I was also wondering about the variety of fish at saugatuck res, what different species have you caught there? |

i love rapalas, but the ones i have are small and don't cast far because i fish small ponds and lakes, nothing comparable to the size of the saugatuck, the one on my avatar is my small husky jerk. |

Species I've caught include brown trout, rainbow trout, smallmouths, largemouths, and yellow perch. Walleye, pickerel, and crappie are also in there from other reports I've seen. |

I see you mentioned not catching trout in the lakes and ponds.
Great Hollow Lake gets stocked heavily in the spring and 1 or 2 good size stockings in the fall before it closes. I've had lots of luck there with trout from shore and on a buddy's canoe.
Twin Brooks and Bunnells hold trout but they like to hang out in certain areas and depths. |

i have only tried great hollow a few times in the summer and fall with no luck, just sunnies. I have tried bunnels only once, with no luck. So all in all I haven't gave it much effort, I love to fish the river though. I wanted to try great hollow in the spring because I heard so much about it, but I was busy fishing so many other places in the spring |
