So we hit the housy yesterday and fished the entire tide swing from rt8 down to the Merrit. Marked a decent amount of fish but not what I had hoped for. And not very cooperative. Trolled some sticks and small umbrellas, putting only a few in the boat. jigging plastics put 6 more in the boat. most were 20 inch size and the water temp was average 48 degrees. couldn't get any on camera.
I thought they would be a little bit hungrier.

From shore Ive given up for now. I am a pretty stubborn person and have been going here for awhile, then starting petering off after many many trips getting skunked., I cant remember the last time I caught a striper here!

Rt 8 Question

Rt. 8 is nowhere near the Housy -> Runs North and South from Winsted to Bridgeport! -> Housy is way west of Rt 8.
Your in Torrington so you know the only river that runs along Rt 8 is the Naugatuck!

So where were you exactly Question

Route 8 goes over the Housy in Shelton and Derby and there's a launch underneath Route 8 at O'Sullivans Island.

Hi Michael,

Your right!

I forgot that that the Housy makes that easterly turn north of Stratford!

Thanks for correcting me!
