Havent hit this area in like 2 months since its been so crappy but weather was iffy today and didnt have much time. I woke up like 7 saw a line of storms coming and said forget it not gonna go out before that and went back to bed. Finally got back up after 9 and saw the rain all died out. DOH! Had to get moving but we didnt make it out till after 11 not good. We marked fish right near the ramp so we started trolling. Once we got down to the condos got a fish on a DD. Got off just at the boat but I saw it was a schoolie. Lost a couple rigs over there on the rocks but managed to get one more schoolie trolling again on the DD. Tried casting around but no go. I guess they moved out as nothing really showing up anymore like at first. Weather was iffy so we just went to the mouth and tried milford side of breakwall. Got a sea robin over there and found some snappers. Kept a few of those for bait and headed to deep water. I got one small blue out there and that was it. Headed back in at 430. Not a skunk but certainly disappointing for this time of year. Hopefully things pick up soon. |

You had better luck than we did last friday down there. We didn't even have a single hit all day.
With all the boat traffic over the weekend,I'm glad you got a schoolie, blue and sea robin atleast. We didn't even see anyone catching snappers!
Hopefully, things will improve as the weather changes.
I haven't done it yet this year myself but,I'm hearing the night bite is when your chances are much better for running into a few larger stripers.

It's worth it to fish east. The bait was stacked and blues and bass were all over. Albies should arrive soon. _________________ RNA - It's in my blood.
