Got there by 11am and got to work with a jerkbait. Caught a 2lb 1oz brown trout.

No other takers on a 5in xcalibur in clown or a blue aurora luckycraft.

Flung around a tube without a tap.

Picked up a blade bait hoping for a few perch. Second cast and a 1.5lb smallie eats it boatside in 14-15fow. 5 minutes later and I get caught in a rock, kick pop and it comes free only to get clobbered by a 2lb 4oz CHUNKY dark smallie.

Hit a 2 14 on the buddy and then another dink 1lber.

All in 12-15fow over rocks in the sun. That was it for the 3 hours I fished, tried like the devil to hit a fish on the jerk but couldnt get it done. Water temp was 53degrees. Areas wher bait WASNT prescent produced- opposite shoreline was loaded with bait and no smallies.

No pics thanks to locked the camera in the truck Crying or Very sad always happens when I hit good fish. Felt good to finally catch some CT smallies.

I wouldnt doubt that it is turned over. Highland is a similar temperature. Turn over occurs in new england between 64 and 58degrees

CT lakes have definitely turned over,...but as this report shows, it doesn't mean that the bass stop biting! (Right during turnover,..the fish get in a funk and don't bite,..but they are usually back to normal after about a week when the water clears..)

Nice job on the catching Nick! Cool

Deffinately special k- its a 7 1/2hp limit, brought my 5hp and did a lap around the pond and went back to my productive zone. 43lbs of thrust on my little boat. Still plenty of juice.
