Dusk and dawn are the best times. Try throwing swimbaits and crankbaits imitating alewives. 1 killer would be the Rapala Jointed Shad Rap JSR-4 in any of the 3 shad colors. |

Also heard that they're picking up some nice sized walleye there at those times lately.
like Michael, said something that represents alewives should be a good choice. _________________ ...Randy...

I fish the causeway a lot. Fish alewives if you could. Expensive but well worth it. Slip bobber this time of year works well. But I prefer live lining if there are not too many guys. Overcast days the best. I fish for trout and Walleye but catch a lot of big smallies too. The Candlewood side produces the bigger smallmouth but you get the walleye on the Squantz side. Not a slam dunk ever there you have to put in time but if you hit a good day it could make your year. |
