|
|
Hey guys,
With Spring right around the corner (right, right??) I was looking for a few tips on pre-spawn bass fishing. Any particular method you guys use to get those lazy pre-spawners to hit your bait? What are you planning to use- jigs? finesse work?
In the past I generally start my fishing around May/June but I want to get out on open water early and often this year. Also looking into setting up my first baitcaster.
Any tips would be appreciated!
Stay warm

I do well with suspending jerkbaits. Waiting for my lucky craft pointer to come in the mail from tacklewarehouse. |

Ya Bluegill, I like the pointers but I love the smithwicks, I weight mine all differently, I find that sometimes they want it falling backwards a tad or they like it slowly falling nose first, and of course suspending but ounce you figure it out you can catch alot of fish. |

Seriously for me it's jigs, tubes, chigger craws, and 4" senkos. _________________ Life's Short - Fish Hard - Take a Kid Fishing |

Jerkbaits by far are my best baits till th water hits 55 degrees, then a big change happens they hit crankbaits better especially lipless, shaky heads, senkos ,tubes |

I've been looking up tips all over the internet for early spring time bass fishing and almost every article has mentioned to use jigs, jerkbaits, spinnerbaits and lipless crankbaits. What do guys think about that? Is that good advice that I researched, I like checking with you all cuz I think the fisherman on this site know their stuff. _________________ -Get your Pole Wet- |

Flippy, thanks I believe that. only cuz I have personally thrown multiple baits and have had success during the spring time, I think every lake is different as well as what the fish in that particular lake like as well , but just wanted to get feedback on what others thought. _________________ -Get your Pole Wet- |

Thanks for some of the input guys...I've been reading up a bit and it sounds like I'll be trying some jerkbait and lipless cranks around suspended grass beds.. try to work them slow as possible, see what I can stir up.
Gotta get out soon, I'm done with the ice and am ready to hit open water!! _________________ Keep 'em hooked and get 'em in the boat! |
