South Pond is a good spot for night fishing. Shiners on a light up bobber will bring in some big 2lb+ bullhead, crappie, and white perch. My favorite to use at night is an unweighted black 7" power worm.
This guy was an added bonus one night. Hanging out with us while we were fishing, I decided to grab him and mess around for a bit. He was super mean and he musked all over my hands. Couldn't get the smell off for a while.
The spot I go to on the Chicopee River is a pretty good spot. Some days are better than others. I've had days where I was nailing yellow perch that were no smaller than 1 1/2lbs, and days where I've gotten skunked. There's a little bit of everything there though: Largies, smallies, pike, pickerel, yellow perch, tiger musky. I've only pulled out pickerel, perch, largies, and smallies.
This particular day, I ALMOST got skunked. Last few casts of the day, had a big white spinner bait on, and landed this chunker.

Hey welcome, we're from Mass and have been all around the Brookfields area. Next time your in that area hit the Quabog river, nice pike, pickerel and largies. Lake Lashaway and Wickabog Pond are also awesome. Quabog pond(should be called a lake) is hit or miss, just a big soup bowl. |
