Got to Seaside right as tide was turning. Low tide for Bridgeport was 2:15pm. Took it easy for a while as I waited for the tide to get higher.
Started by casting the HJ-6 towards the harbor from the sandbar. Tide was still kinda too low.
Later headed over to Remington and snappers were very thick there. Landed over 20.
Later around 5pm the guy I ran into there last time arrived. As I kept hitting snappers he was throwing a 4" or 4 1/2" popper out there. He was getting a few swirls and 2 fish on which were last year's snappers (14" taylor).
I started playing around with a few lures to see if anything would hit as sunset got closer. Got 1 swirl and lost a small taylor with the chrome Skitter Pop SP-9. Never had any luck with a blue sardine Saltwater X-Rap, chrome Flat Rap FLR-10, silver Clackin Minnow CNM-11, blue shad Rattlin Rapala RNR-7, and pearlescent purple Twitchin Rap TWR-8.
By 7:45pm I was a bit achy from all the jerking I was doing with the HJ-6 and SP-9 and never saw any signs of average taylors and harbors so I hit the road. |
