Got home from the Cape just after 2pm Tuesday and looked at the tides online. Had time to quickly unpack and change before heading out. High tide for Bridgeport was scheduled for 3:22pm and got down to Breezy Point right around that time.
Lures I played with included olive green Clackin Minnow CNM-9, original pearl shad Flat Rap FLR-10, silver shad Jointed Shallow Shad Rap JSSR-7, shad Shallow Shad Rap SSR-9, flake purple ghost Max Rap MXR-11, blue sardine Saltwater X-Rap SXR-10, and chrome Skitter Pop SP-9.
Landed 2 sea robins both on the JSSR-7 with no other hits.
Was feeling hungry so I decided to head Downtown to eat something seeing there was still time to let me go back after I finished.
Spent another 45 minutes to an hour fishing at Remington. Tried throwing the JSSR-7, FLR-10, SP-9, SSR-9, and FLR-10 all with no luck. Did end up landing a 14" schoolie and lost 2 on a silver X-Rap XR-6.
Hit the road around 7:15pm.
Silversides were thick along the shore with a few snappers popping up. A usual I know from Remington said he was catching many small stripers there before the tide got lower. No birds were active while I was out there and no signs of any splashing. |

Michael,
Way to keep at it! Nice job on the schoolies. If silversides are there, try a small castmaster with blue, blast to catch on light tackle
Did you fish in the Cape??? been reading it is really heating up there
