Friday I didn't wake up til around 5pm and got out of bed around 5:30pm, which made it tough to fall asleep once I went to bed. Decided to do my overnight trick and keep and eye on the radar.
Once I saw the rain was gone around 9:30am, I headed down to Seaside Park. High tide for Bridgeport was scheduled for 12:26pm.
Stayed at the cannon for a while throwing lures including the chrome Skitter Pop SP-9, chrome Flat Rap FLR-10, blue shad Rattlin Rapala RNR-7, olive green Clackin Minnow CNM-9, spotted minnow Saltwater X-Rap SXR-10, and flake blue sardine Max Rap MXR-13. Not a single hit or swirl on all.
Later after high tide I walked over to the sandbar and casting out with the SP-9 and MXR-13 towards the harbor. Had no luck.
Got a ride home from one of the nicer fishermen I know from Seaside and was gone by 4:15pm.
Other than snappers, I only saw 1 sea robin landed by a chunker. Somebody who was throwing pieces of squid never got a hit and was getting robbed by crabs. |
