Had alot of luck started at 6:30 ended at abot 10:30 and caught 12 trout in total a few brookies one brown and a few rainbows all on rapala husky jerks . Anyway started at the comstock bridge and pulled 5 trout between my dad and i nothing huge. Then we worked are way up and worked one pool and got 2 then another and got 2 then another and got 1 then we were fishing fast water and i got another one then our next spot my dad nailed 2 in the trophy trout section.  great day striper fishing tommorow in cromwell. |

| Nice story! I'm just curious: Where exactly is Salmon River? I've always wanted to try it but I don't want to drive out there for nothing and not have a good spot. Would you be able to private message me some directions? |

| salmon river runs through colchester,east hampton and east haddam look at the dep trout map of it it helps alot |

Look up salmon river state forest and go there. Top 10 most beautiful places I've ever fished. I fished sun up to sun down on a few occasions there. You can fish miles of it. I notice that it's particularly effected by weather a bit more than some other streams as in the water levels rise fast w rain and dissipate fast during dryspells. I highly recommend checking it out.

Thanks. I really want to give it a try on one of my days off with a buddy of mine. I've never caught Salmon before so it would be pretty exciting. |

Let me clarify then. You most likely will not catch a Salmon bigger than a fry. I have seen the carcass of a big salmon (at least I think it was a salmon) but I only catch Salmon fry and trout.

When you say "Fry", what size are you talking as far as inches go? Sorry, I'm still learning fishing lingo haha. |

The guy at my local bait shop told me yesterday that's it's absolutely BEAUTIFUL. I can't wait to throw in over there.
