Went to Rogers for only my second trip of the season. Got on the water @ 8am with water temps of 59deg wich quikly risen to 64 by 11am. Now correct me if Im wrong while I go off on this rant......We had abnormal cold temps for a couple of weeks, we then have abnormal warm temps consistently warm to hot temps for 4 days straight, now with these warm temps i really expected a little more out of the day.. so here we go
We started out at the north end and fished shallow used spinnerbaits, cranks soft plastics and a swimbait, covering water to try to put together a pattern. I hookup on a shallow flat right off of shore wich was a wind protected bay (typical spawning pattern). Well we tried to add a little more to this pattern but couldnt they were not relating to any cover, no wood or rock . so we tried moving out to the next dropoff to look for staging fish...nothing..... try the south end of the lake again picked up another on a wind protected bank again..no cover around. we ended up with 3 bass for the day and one pick. was off the water by 1:30 the only good that i got out of it is that i got my first swimbait fish nothing to write home about 2+ lbs. but those new BBZ shads have some awesome action to them. |

Alright Stumpy.
Doesn't sound like a terrible day..
I think the current problem is that the bass are really interested in spawning beds right now.. I been seeing a lot of bass just cruising around seaching for a good place to spawn.. They really don't seem interested in biting anything..
Started out nice today but it's starting to get cold out there now. _________________ Got one!!! |

Yeah, I've been seeing some LUNKERS cruising on edges the past week or so, but they all seem very disinterested. It wasn't untill today that I found a few bass on beds that were hitting. Plucked off a couple good 3 pounders, I will write a post on it later. But all and all fish is better than no fish. Good job getting out! _________________ Yankees Suck!

This weekend and next week should be very interesting, I'm thinking bass locked on beds everywhere. _________________ Life's Short - Fish Hard - Take a Kid Fishing |
