Shocked I saw the pics last year with total amasement! Do they do this every year and for what? for residents to rebuild docks, or weed kills? This seems pretty excesive draining it down that far. Hope it doesn`t have a major impact on fishing!

Nice DROP eh?
They do that for alot of reasons... one of the more popular ones, that place is probably river fed, and they are anticipating snow melt and spring rain run off. Best to dump the water now, than to try to dump it when everything is waterlogged. Another reason... dam repairs and inspections. 3rd. to keep a bunch of hole drilling, freaks from standing on the ice, stokin' grills, and drinking coffee on SuperBowl Sunday. . .or any Sunday for that matter...and finally, if that is a reservoir, perhaps a case of eColi at the local McDonalds or a new Taco Bell in town, resulting in alot of extra "flushes" from the local townsfolk.
