WOW, I never seen it drained.

Now is the best time to take a small electric boat with an in-hull propulsion system and go map out the river.

Hmmm where can I find such a boat with in-hull propulsion? I know.. CTWINTROLLERBOATS.COM

Sorry, couldn't help it.

But it is a good idea.

For the saavy bass fisheman, now would be the time to go there and take pictures of all the cover and structure that is located at this place. When they fill it back up you will have a documented location of all the prime bass holding spots at that resevoir for future reference.

Also a good time to pick up some lures. Bass Addict, when you were down there by the old bridge pilings did you find a ton of lures in that woodpile? If so, I'd love my red eye shad and a couple of jigs back. Laughing Laughing Laughing

That's where I caught my PB smallie...and tore up my thumb when he hooked me back.

Crazy pictures....I've only been there once but there was a LOT more water in there when I went. I like the idea of going there to map structure/channels and to go lure hunting. Pretty wild to see an area usually covered in so much water drained out.

I took those pictures off another site. It looks like some locals have been implanting a lot of cover for when they fill it back up. I will see if I can post those pictures too. I heard they did the same thing about 10 years ago too. Hopefully the fish made it to the river and didn't die.

I have no idea why they drained it. I will see if I can find some info on the dep website.

Probably to work on the dam would be my guess. Normally the DEP would do a drawdown on lakes to allow dockowners to do neccessary wok on their docks but Rainbow Rez has no residents on their shore correct?
