fished today sun club tourney.one proud moment for a dad.my fishing partner my 16 year old son had his limit and stated culling fish by 10:30 .his first ever tourney for both and he landed a nice 3.5lmb for his 5 fish.and he beat me by2oz total i think it was7.84lbs.what a great day.winning was 14 something lbs .still was a fantastic day for both,he needs the practice because he is fishing jr federation this year.take a kid fishing.

Congratulations! You're lucky that your son likes to fish. My 16-year old couldn't care less and doesn't have the patience for it. Luckily, my 12-year old daughter likes to fish, but she likes to catch large numbers of panfish off a dock more than sitting in a boat looking for lunkers.

7.84 lbs isnt too shabby at all. But there are always guys out there that do so well. I used to go to congamond on saturdays to fish and me and my friend would weigh our 5 to see what we got. wed usually get like 9 to 11 pounds but then we would go watch the weigh in for the open tournaments and guys would bring in 20 lb bags. frustrating a little, but cant complain with a 10lb bag either. Gotta get that kid into fishing. take him on a charter, thats what sparked my interest
