Dont risk ice fishing this weekend south of bantam/maybe harwinton.
90% open lakes in the meriden/middlefield/southington/waterbury area. |

What about Bantam for this sat.I was going to give it a shot but now I'm not so sure.....I really wish that this weather would make up its mind..but I guess the old saying,"if you don't like the weather just wait a min and it will change". |

Senkobait if you go up on Saturday I might go on Sunday up there. I was on a pond in Plainville yesterday 1/10 jigging up bluegills and perch. Ice was about 5 inches went down 3 inches from Sunday. With this rain unfortunatley the shoreline will be destroyed. The good news is the temps are going to be in the 30s for the next two weeks. Look at accuweather. Crescent Lake in Southington/Plainville is still locked up no open water visible from the boat launch as of 1/10. If the ice makes it through this rain next weekend lakes wil be icefishable again. |

Made a few calls last night. Highland has 5-7inches- edges are in descent shape. Winchester is better with 7+inches and good edges. Be careful with all this fresh snow.
This weekend- head north. I expect ice to be back up to 3-4inches in the meriden/southington/wolcott area. Should be 50/50 black/white ice. |
