Do these things really work and what should I spend on a decent pair? I've been looking at the Wiley X mainly because I like their style. Any ideas? _________________ Yankees are like snitches...a dying breed |

Without a doubt. A "must have" in my opinion. Cheap ones (meaning anything less than $30-$40) can actually make glares worse. Good ones make a huge difference. Of course, if you're fishing really dirty water most of the time, then it may not be worth it to you; but if you've got polarized glasses, Once you see the difference, you may even end up getting multiple pairs for different conditions. For instance, my Oakley's have dark lenses and aren't all that effective in overcast/cloudy conditions. I have lighter lensed Maui Jim's for the cloudy days. |

Cocoons makes some decent, affordable glasses. Ish Monroe and Mike Iaconelli wear them. |

Thanks a lot. No one I know uses them so I have no one to ask.But you've been helpful. Maybe I'll start looking into them more _________________ Yankees are like snitches...a dying breed |

yes. I just bought a pair of typhoons from cabelas. They where 60$ but I had 40$ of cabelas points so I only paid 20. I seem to break my glasses every year so I won't spend over 75$ for glasses. I love the pair I just bought. You can see into the water really well with them and they provide great protection. Hopefully, I won't break them anytime soon. _________________ Sorry honey, looks like we will be late again due to motor problems.

I will not fish a tournament without them. I wear a prescription set of Ray Ban's, because I'm blind as a bat without my glasses, but you need to protect your eyes from the nasty UV rays of the sun bouncing back at you off the water, and also to see bedding bass and submerged cover much better. It's night and day without them, even on cloudy days they cut the glare enough to make a huge difference and help me see much better.
Try different styles to see which models fit your particular head/face shape the best. The idea is to get the wrap arounds near the temples, to shade out as much light as possible coming in from bedind the lens, this will block the glare for the most part. A good baseball cap pulled down to the top of the shades will take care of the rest. Hope this helps...... _________________ Life's Short - Fish Hard - Take a Kid Fishing |

3 years ago I spent the money on a pair of Costa Del Mar glasses and I would never buy a different brand of glasses. They are the proverbial tits of glasses. _________________ The King of Long Island Sound. |

I really can't believe the difference. The ones I have a are cheaper pair of Panama Jacks that were given to me. I can't complain. I never knew there was such a difference _________________ Yankees are like snitches...a dying breed |

Just ask SkeeterRon on the importance of having polarized glasses when driving his boat while trolling around. That bastard sent me flying from the back of the boat to the front due to his crappy driving and not seeing rocks. I landed so hard the impact BENT my reel handle! Should of thrown him into the water when I had the chance while he was laughing. _________________ Eat, Sleep, Fish......I Love my SKEETER ZX225!!!
