Hey, does anybody know what time of year is the best to fish for pike in the CT River? I never fished for them before and would like to try sometime. And are there any down around Haddam? |

I have been fishing Haddam area for pike and they are definately there. All you need to do is find some weeds. I've caught mostly small ones (under 3') but probably I have been fishing too shallow. If you are wondering what kind of pike are in that area of the river, google Capt Blaine Anderson and check out some of the pics. Also, DEP manages a pike spawning marsh at Haddam Meadows State Park and uses the fingerlings to stock other locations. That means there are plenty of breeders there which are the fish we are looking for. If you manage to catch anything big, please post and let me know what you were using, how deep, etc. Good luck! |
