Headed down to the shore this weekend... absolutely perfect weather, and fishing conditions.
Saturday I took the kayak out from noon to around 5pm, managed 4 stripers, the largest being 20". Caught a bunch of porgies too, was hoping for some blackfish but no go.
Sunday I got out a bit earlier around 9 am, and was happy I did since about an hour later I landed a 28 incher... barely a keeper, but my second keeper this season (or ever for that matter) Including the big guy I landed 9 stripers on Sunday. As always got a few porgies too.
13 stripers total this weekend... all caught from the yak, close to shore, on tube & worm.
I have pics but i'm still having trouble uploading them here, any suggestions would be appreciated! |

pd, all I did was drop the bait and reel it in. I couldn't have done it without my buddy captain scott getting us on the fish. It also didn't hurt that we had a full moon and an outgoing tide at Montauk.
