I noticed you have him on a stringer. You eat them when they are that big? When they are smaller they are good or should I say OK but when they get that big they are truly nasty! They just taste like Bunker!

You have to eat them that night, and filet out the really purple stuff in the middle. A simple way to eat it, chunk it up, soak in milk, then dip in egg and then Aunt Germina Buttermilk Mix, evenly coat, and lightly fry it. It comes out pretty good.

If you don't eat it that day, the meat is way to soft, and doesn't taste good.

Nice catch man! As long as you cut out the dark meat on the fillet blues can be pretty tasty. I do the same thing with stripers, the dark meat is really fishy tasting and the PCB's are more concentrated in the dark section.

Nice fish Michael, I havent run into any decent size blues yet but had some nice topwater action with some smaller 1's yesterday. 1 hit my pencil yesterday but didnt grab it and came back gor 2nds and wacked it about 1 1/2' in the air on the second hit which was pretty cool.

One thing about me enjoying the flavor of bluefish is I have sensitive taste buds, which means flavor with a kick is what I like and need.

Bluefish has that delicious fishy and oily flavor that has a kick to it while striped bass needs plenty of extra flavoring for me to enjoy. Fluke is another fish I enjoy very much.
