Hey all. New guy here. I had not been been fishing in about 10 years. Went on a family trip and my uncle who taught me how to fish was teaching my daughter. As soon as I got home from our trip I broke out my rods and lures and got out on the water. Needless to say I am hooked again, pun intended.
I do not have a boat so I fish from my kayak. Not only do I get out fishing, I havent missed a weekend since August when I started again, but a lot of the time the family dog comes with me. He especially likes when the fish jump. So do I! I am really happy to be back out there fishing. I caught my two personal bests this year. Probably not as big as many of yours but PB for me anyway. I caught a 20 inch LMB, and a 14 inch Smallie just this past weekend up at Squantz Pond.
Well that is about it. Im glad I found this site. Tight Lines! |

Well our kayak is a family kayak, as family comes first. So it's a big Ocean Kayak Mailbu 2XL. When not fishing its the dog, my wife, and 6 year old daughter. We have had some adventures. As for fishing if its just the two of us, he sits or lays down behind me. But he picks right up when he sees the rod tip bend or hears the fish jump. I reward him by letting him smell them. I would love to know what he thinks they are. |

I've taken a single passenger for a ride on my Hobie Pro Angler a few times. I can put a rear-facing low lawn chair behind me. My daughter likes to fish from back there. My wife wasn't as enthusiastic about getting on the water.
I also have an eight foot Pelican sink (i.e., sit inside kayak), but am thinking of getting another kayak. However, I don't see a tandem in my future. I checked out an iridescent orange Hurricane Santee 116 Sport at EMS in Avon, yesterday. It's a really sweet boat! Habanero hot! _________________ Don't forget to wear sunscreen and don't litter! |

Yeah I try to get my daughter out, but she gets bored fast being 6. I set her up a little rod and reel with a boober, but she just wants to reel it in and not wait for a bite. |

My daughter used to fish for panfish off of a dock and went for quantity over quality. Now, she's 12, uses a spinning reel and wants to catch the big one!
They grow up fast! Keep taking your daughter fishing and she'll grow up to be the big catch. Ask any guy here, fishing chicks are hot. Right Kira?

Thanks again. I was just talking to her today about maybe getting out with me one more time this year. She said she wants me to catch a pike. Ever since she watched River Monsters with me and saw one. Then she flipped through a Bass Pro shop catalog and saw a walleye, and said ok now you can catch one of those too. Lol. I've never caught either before. I did go to Squantz two weekends ago hoping to catch a walleye fall feeding in the shallows but no luck. Didn't get skunked, caught some decent smallies, but not the walleye she wanted a picture of.
