Wednesday I arrive at Mondo around 2:15. Skies were mostly sunny, sun was strong, temp was warm, air felt moist, and winds were a steady 5-10 southwest with occasional 12 and 15 mph gusts.
I worked many areas of the ponds for over 6 hours. Threw spinners, topwater, and HJ-6.
Total was 2 bass, 3 pickerel, and 5 bluegills.
1 bass was a dink on an inline, while the other was a 13.5" cookie cutter just over a pound on the HJ-6.
Biggest pickerel was 14" just under a pound. Lost 2 other pickerel, with all coming on a Tiny Torpedo.
4 of the 5 gills were bulls. Found an area where there were many bluegills and some were nice size. Threw a weightles 2" dragonfly soft plastic as I lightly twitched it on the surface or just under the surface.
Had a few other explosions on the Baby Torpedo, 1 on a buzzbait, and had a bass and a pickerel try to take a Snag Proof mouse.
Hit the road just before 9. |
