Hit middle (and upper?) Bolton lake yesterday fot the first time in my life. Nice lake! Went out on the canoe with a buddy of mine after we drank the night away, so can't really say I was as sharp as I would have liked to been, and we made it onto the water around 12 and stayed till about 4. Fish were hitting Senko's and I caught a couple on a spinner along with 2 small bluegill's that I somehow managed to find...(DAMN I HATE THOSE STUPID LITTLE FISHIES)
Was a good trip with all bass between 1-2 lbs, some in deeper water and some in the shallows. We did however run into some idiot with horrible ettiquette on a boat again... So here we were, on a nice little hot spot at the tip of the bend. We were anchored down maybe 20 yards from shore (if that) and some idiot come drifting around the corner in his 20'ish foot boat. Well, instead of coming around, the moron puts his trolling motor on and drives right over where we had been casting, its really not possible that he could have not seen us.. So he continued to drift down the shore and fish our spots and we moved on and found another area. Later on I see the same idiot throw his outboard motor into the water (which in no way could have been below the 6hp max for that lake) and starts zipping around...
It gets even better - My buddy and I decide to call it a day and head into the boat lauch. The guys boat is tied up to a tree and his girlfriend/wife/whatever is sitting in the boat blocking the whole launch. I think the guy must have gone to the grocery store or something because it was another 15 mins before he even came back to the boat with the trailer. Finally we managed to get out and get back.
Sorry no pics of the fish, Im going to have to start remembering to do that!
Any of you guys fish the middle of the Lake or do you just hit the shorelines?

I hardly fish middle bolton lake anymore, usually lower bolton. If I am on lower bolton, then yes I do fish the middle of the lake. There are some deeper weed beds that used to be more prevelant in years past, but there are still fish there on them, you just have to use your electronics to find them. _________________ Life's Short - Fish Hard - Take a Kid Fishing |

pdcrack,
Good post. I need to try Bolton out. I'm hearing more and more about this place.
As for the idiots, there are a dime a dozen. We should start a thread on the dumb things we see guys do, maybe JUST maybe it might smarten them up if the happen to read about them selfs. _________________ Sleep...Eat...Fish!!!!! Then do it all over again. |

I would be willing to guess that most of those guys can barely read, never mind think of a screen name and log in to a site. _________________ Life's Short - Fish Hard - Take a Kid Fishing |
