Went to mashapaug again today from 6 to 1 and once again did pretty damn good. Had 4 keepers in the boat in the first 20mins or so and added to that and culled throughout the day. Between me and my buddy we caught around 20 fish in the 12 to 19 inch range. My buddy caught the lunker going almost 4lbs. Our best 5 fish weigh in at 14lbs 6oz. Only bad thing about the day was we didnt catch one smallmouth... kinda bumin about that but owell. All in all it was another good day on the water.

We were throwing soft plastics anywhere from 2ft early morning to 18ft when it started to get hotter out.

Nice fish. Bigelow Hollow Pond, huh? Have you made the hike up to Breakneck Pond, yet?

BTW, to post photos, copy the "Direct" link for each photo from imageshack.us after you upload it and paste it into your post. Highlight each link and hit the [Img] button, above. The link will appear as the photo in your post.

Peco: I think he fished mash and just has the header as Bigelow for the state park.

OP: Nice fish, Last time out I skipped that spot where you had the two fish in the photo.

I can catch the small smallies up to 2lbs but anything over that is elusive to me. I do know they are in there though.

Use your electronics and find the rock piles in 10 to 20 feet of water there, preferably with bait over them, and drop shot them. You can also get them on carolina rigs, deep cranks, erie darters, silver buddies, and weighted spoons.
