Think I'm going to take the kayak out for the first time this season tomorrow morning into the afternoon at one of these two places. Anyone heading to either? It's supposed to be over 70 tomorrow!! Very Happy

I heard on news that lower Bolton was having algae problems due to the channel catfish and the residence want the catfish out. I don't know the details though.

I heard that was an issue last year, I don't know how catfish can cause those problems

Hmm, well I went to Mansfield Hollow today. I'll be hitting one of the Boltons next though.

I highly doubt it is the catfish that are the problem. I heard last year that the problems were caused by the huge flock of geese that lives on the lake. The geese poop and get bad chemicals in the water. The channel cats have nothing to do with it. Otherwise we would have seen problems before now since the channel cats have been in since 2007 and bullheads have been there even before that.
