I took my 3 1/2 year old son over to Lower Bolton from 7am until about11am. We caught 12 bass total, they were all fat bellied too, 11 largmouth and 1 smallmouth. Almost all fish caught on senkos, a few from the tigger pole on a wacky rigged green pumpkin, including the 8 inch smallie. All but 2 were caught on a texas rigged baby bass senko. The largest of the morning was the first fish on my 3rd cast of the morning, a 2lb. largmouth on a swimming image topwater bait. The other was on a drop shot that came off next to the boat. Most were bolton specials about 1lb.

My son had tons of fun reeling in most of the fish, a few from his tigger pole and the rest from mine. He couldn't help touching them, asking questions about them, and playing with the fish in the livewell. He said "Dad this is like bassmasters", just when you don't think he's paying attention to what your watching on TV, these kids surprise you. All fish were released alive and in great shape before we left the lake. This was definately quality time on the water with him.

The weather was great, a little overcast for the first 2 hours, and no wind. The surface temp was 73 degrees. All fish were caught in 6 to 13 feet of water. Most fish caught and marked on the electronics, were relating to deeper weeds. I also found some nice humps, old creek channels, and drop offs in very unusual places. These will come in handy in the spring and fall.

I believe my club has a tourney there in the fall, watch out boys!

pdcrack, I've caught some good fish in both places, but they are few and far between, mostly small fish, but plenty of them, and no god damn jet ski's and power boats. It's peaceful, and close to home, only a 20 minute ride, so I take my little guy there to catch #'s of fish, and keep away from the boat traffic.

PM me during the week before you go next time, and I'll give you some area's to try.

Gary,

What no PIX? Shocked

Just kidding.. Laughing Laughing

I took my boy to Scoville during the week. We stop counting how many fish we caught.

It was crazy, maybe it was because it was raining and we got soaked so the fish took pitty on us.

Ron, I haven't joined the 21st century yet. I still have a great 35 mm camera that takes excellent pictures, and until it breaks, I can't see spending the money for a new digital camera.
