Went fishing off the Saybrook jetty with a buddy of mine for about 2 hours. We had squid strips and sandworms as bait. Both started off with squid but after 30 minutes with no bites, we switched to the sandworms. Still no bites for an hour but then my friend got a huge bite. The fish took the bait under the rocks and broke the line. Shortly after, I got a few nibbles and set the hook. Reeled in a nice, but small, 15' striper. Very shortly after my friend got what seemed like the same fish he had before on his line. This time though he managed to bring it in. It was a beautiful 20' big ol' fat blackfish. It put up a hell of a fight. After that catch we left so we ended on a good note. Will put up pictures when I learn how to. |
