Is there shore fishing access at Lake Zoar? I checked the angler's guide and it said it had 4 boat launches...I find it hard to believe there aren't trails or whatnot to shore fish from. Can anyone shed some light?

You can access some of Zoar's shoreline through Kettletown State Park

From 84 get off exit 15 in Southbury. Down the road is Kettletown road. If you can't find it just ask somebody it's basically right off the exits. Take that a few miles straight to the end. Takes you right to the lake.

Some of the following areas can be accessed before the Memorial Day holiday schedule, but after that you will need town permits.
Starting at the Stevenson Dam and heading north:

The boat launch in Monroe
Paugussett State Forest - Newtown (always people fishing from shore there when I am on the boat)
Jacksons Cove Park - Oxford
Kettletown Park - Southbury
State boat launch - Southbury
There is a small beach/park (I believe is called Town Beach in Southbury) located off River Road. It is just north of the Rt 84 bridge and also borders where the Pomperaug river enters lake Zoar.

There may be some other areas further north up River Rd as well but I am not sure.
