Went to lake Mashapaug at around 9:30 AM.. When I arrived there were only two cars in the parking lot. When I launched one gut with a boat was getting off the water and it did not look like he had been fishing.
The air had a very slight breeze which created a little ripple on top. Water temp at launch was 68 degrees and ant the end of the day was 72. During the day I threw a craw crank, spinner, jig and wacky rigged worm. I caught ten bass three of which were smallies. All fish cam off the wacky rigged work and were tight to the bank and hit upon the worm hitting the water. Fish were in the 14 to 15 inch range. Only saw a few fish on beds however on one of the fish the tale was raw from fanning a bed. Saw a few bass roaming around and lots of sun fish on beds. Spoke to a guy in a kayak who said he caught 20 mostly on night crawlers.
Had the lake to myself and got off the water at 2:15 PM |
