Took the kids out again this morning. Today we went with grandpa (cmorejoe) to Lake Housatonic
It was pretty slow. I don't remember how many my father caught, but I caught about 6 smallmouth and a dozen or so crappie. Nothing huge. Most smallmouth were a pound, biggest maybe 2. The big ones are all safe. Here's a pic of one of the smallmouth.

Crappie! Wow, I've never caught more than one a trip. You guys must have found a school of them.

Great picture you have there as well.

Sorry Ryan. Bad use of slang. They were rock bass. Growing up we always called them crappie and called crappie calico. When I lived in Alberta, they called walleye pickeral. Anywho, they were rock bass and as you know there are tons of them there.

Ok, that makes a lot more sense. They must be closely related anyway.
