In the image i high lighted the bad spot on these junk rods. The entire reel seat is held on in that one spot with the clear coat stuff.
I had a 2pc spinning rod and casted the other day and the entire tips flew off (hadnt checked it in a while) and heard a loud snap. Reeled in my tip and started fishing gain. Couple casts later i noticed something funny feeling. My entire reel seat was sliding up and down, only a little because there was still a little thread holding it from moving farther. I could also twist it but again, the few strands of thread were holding it.
Took the other one that had stress cracks in the same place and brought them back to dicks. I pulled some off the racks and showed them even the ones that havent been used yet were cracked and they were gonna get a lot of returns. I think they are going to send them all back.

That's too bad as I've had great success with their lightning rods. |
