Hi all,

Just talked with my brother who is an excutive with Northeast Utilies.

This is about the Solar Flare that is to hit earth between 1:00 AM and 5:00 AM.

As per my brother -> All US electric utilities are on high alert due to the possibility of electric grid knock-outs.

Also he indicated to me, as a safety measure, to turn off every possible electronic unit (TV, Computer, etc.) in the house till daylight. (ie; make sure no little red lights are showing -> shut units down cold) -> before midnight tonight.

Just thought you should be aware!

Thanks, didnt even hear about that at all. Luckily we have a special whole house surge protector designed for stuff like this that was installed a few years ago. Its also supposed to redirect some unused energy and saves us about $30 a month typically and about $45 in the summer when the ac units are all on.

My wife signed us up for this thing which I believe was like $600 installed and I was very doubtful at the saving energy aspect but Ive seen the bills myself. I was pissed when I found out she did it though as she is very gullible and I thought for sure we just got scammed.
