I used a 3/8 oz grass type jighead, black head, with a 5/0 heavy wire hook. I like the paca chunk trailer in the regular or senior model but lots of different ones would probably work. I just start throwing it shallow and if the fish are not there move out to a little deeper water until they smack it. Yersterday they seemed to be in 4-8 ft. It is a little shallow near the launch but is not a problem. There's a little channel leading to the main lake. No gas engines allowed to fire up so you have to take it easy. The fishing can be awesome there. I had the whole place to myself. Might try to hit it next friday or saturday if things work out, and the wind cooperates. I've only fished it the last three years so I didn't know about the weed kill years ago. |
