I just wanted to try a post to see how everything worked on here...not sure if anyone reads these but:

I live in New Haven but launch out of the Sate ramp on the Housatonic mostly. I have an 16.5 Polar Craft aluminum bass boat with higher sides so i have been venturing out into the Sound a bit. In fresh water i do ok but i have been out 5 times and have been skunked every time on the Sound/river. I am trying to get some tips and advice...So far i have tried trolling eels, flipping various lures, letting chunks float or sink on 3-ways etc. So far my boat has seen 2 eels and one Striper that my friend who always fishes pulled in one night (though it didn't look like he was set up any different than i was. At least i am catching a buzz. Fish mostly at night (the only time i'm not working).

I look forward to learning a little here and hopefully giving advice if i ever have any worth giving.

Cheers,

E.J.

Here is a tip
Always use rubber or latex gloves when cutting fresh squid or bunker

So my hands don't smell or because they are dirty or something???

Or is it so the fish doesn't smell like me???
