Whats the best way to catch these trouts if we are using a spinning combo instead of fly fishing. i was thinking a rooster tail or mepps, any other ideas?

I don't really like fly fishing, when I fish stream/rivers for trout I use a 5' 6" med light rated for 4-8test with a 1500 sahara loaded with 6lb berkley vanish. I hate roosters tails and spinners because of line twist, so I snell a sz 10 or 12 gamakatsu live bait hook and pinch 1 or 2 spilt shots about 18" up the line. My favorite bait has to be super worms, in the 2inch size. Every now and then I go old school with night crawlers but superworms are much more durable and normally out fish worms 3-1.

If you want to fish a small native stream, ALOT of 6-14 inch natives, even seen some 17+ inchers out of there, is pease brook in Lebanon. My uncle owned 7 acres on pease brook and I caught trout in there for years, my favorite lure was a yellow panter martin, silver blade and red dots, or a black joes fly works well too. Good luck
