Looking back at January 2014 when I got into some action at the Remington discharge, I looked at the local water temp and tides and decided to hit the afternoon outgoing Friday. Water temp read 36.5 in Bridgeport Harbor as of 1pm so I was expecting the discharge to be just above 40. High tide was schedule for 1:42pm and arrived just before 4pm.
Put in an hour as I played with a number of soft plastics and also did numerous stop and go retrieves with a spotted minnow SXR-10 but never got a hit or follower and never saw any flashes.
The only sign of life I ever saw there was a loon going underwater in the outflow for no more than 10 minutes before it left. That was close to sunset. No signs of small bait around the rocks and in the shallows. |
